Are you hungry?
You won’t be if you watch the vile 45-second video titled “This isn’t normal, right? After hours at Bourbon Street restaurant.” The video is on Twitter and it has been viewed more than 210,000 times.
You will see four or five rats crawling and then scurrying across the service counter of a New Orleans place called Willie’s Pizza Joint. I have no idea when the video was shot and I wish I had never seen it, but because of my duty to report pizza news, I’ve forced myself to watch it over and over to make sure I don’t miss anything.
The link to the video is right here.
You can also watch it right here, courtesy of WWL Channel 4 in New Orleans via YouTube, and I hope and pray no copy infringement is involved.
The video was posted on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, on Twitter and I first saw it Thursday afternoon.
I may never eat again. Just give me liquids and a marinara IV.
I looked at Yelp to read customer comments about Willie’s Pizza Joint and from what saw, one person liked the Cajun Willie, Peppy Willie and Buffalo Willie pizza slices and someone mentioned a mixed drink called “the cock,” served in a chicken-shaped container.
Oh boy! To be on Bourbon!
The video leads me to this: How many rats have you seen in restaurants?
I’m talking about any restaurants, not just pizza places.
You can tell me the city, the type of restaurant and the year. You don’t have to name the restaurant.
I have an old rat story and I’m going to name the restaurant.
Patty and I saw a rat almost as big as a person and it was slurping up something from the floor after hours at the Acme in the French Quarter back in 1979.
I’m sure someone out there has a restaurant rat story worse than mine.
